Device Safety and Claims

Read this before you use anything you bought from Apex Flow Beauty. It does not replace the manufacturer’s instructions in the box, which you should read and follow.
What these products are
We sell consumer personal-care devices (for example LED and red / near-infrared light masks and panels, microcurrent and EMS devices, scalp caps and combs) and hair tools (dryers, curlers). They are sold for personal care and comfort. They are not sold to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or medical condition, including acne, hair loss, pain, inflammation, skin disease or any other condition. Statements on this website have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Unless a product page expressly states otherwise, we have not verified FDA clearance or registration, electrical-safety listings (such as UL or ETL) or independent test results for any product. Manufacturers’ own claims about those are theirs.
How to read the research on this site
Our guides summarize published studies, which tested particular devices in particular settings. A study finding does not mean a product sold here will do the same for you. Results vary from person to person, take weeks or months if they happen, and are not guaranteed. If you have a skin, scalp, hair-loss or medical concern, see a doctor or dermatologist rather than relying on a device.
Do not use light, microcurrent or EMS devices if you
- have a pacemaker, defibrillator or any implanted electronic device (microcurrent and EMS);
- have epilepsy or a history of seizures, or are sensitive to flashing or bright light;
- are pregnant, or may be (microcurrent and EMS), unless your doctor says it is fine;
- are photosensitive, have a condition made worse by light, or take medication or use products that make skin more sensitive to light;
- have active cancer, a suspicious mole or lesion, or unexplained skin changes in the area to be treated;
- have metal implants in the treated area (microcurrent and EMS), open wounds, infection or very damaged skin there;
- are under 18. These devices are for adults.
If you are unsure, ask your doctor first. Stop using a device and get medical advice if you notice pain, burning, a rash, blisters, swelling, dizziness, headache or a change in a mole or skin.
Eyes
Bright LEDs can be uncomfortable or harmful at close range. Keep your eyes closed or use the eye protection supplied, never look into the light, and do not use blue or bright light around the eyes for long sessions. Keep devices away from children and pets.
Heat, hair tools and burns
Heated devices, hair dryers and curlers can cause burns and fires. Use on dry hair and skin at the lowest setting that works, never leave them switched on or unattended, never use them near water or in the bath, keep the cord and vents clear, and unplug after use. Stop if the unit smells, smokes or gets hotter than expected. Supervise any use around children. Do not use a damaged cord or plug.
Electricity and batteries
Use only the charger and cable supplied. Do not use a device that is swollen, hot while charging, or damaged. Do not put rechargeable devices in household rubbish; recycle them. Products are sold with a US plug where the page says so; check voltage and plug on the product page before use.
If something goes wrong
For a medical emergency call 911. For a product problem, email info@apexflowlabs.com with your order number; we will arrange a refund or replacement. You can also report to SaferProducts.gov, and device-related adverse events to FDA MedWatch at www.fda.gov/medwatch.
California Proposition 65
Where a product is known to need a California Proposition 65 warning, the warning appears on that product’s page. Many electronic products and cords can contain chemicals on California’s list; for general information see www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
