Microcurrent vs EMS vs radiofrequency: which at-home sculpting device does what?

Microcurrent tones muscle you cannot feel. EMS contracts muscle you can. Radiofrequency heats the dermis for a mild tightening over months. None of them replace a procedure.

Three technologies share the word 'sculpting' on the box and do three different things to three different layers.

Microcurrent

Sub-sensory current, conductive gel, ten minutes. A short-lived lift from muscle tone plus mild swelling. Maintained by daily use. The gentlest and the one with the most consumer history.

EMS

A pulse you feel, causing visible contraction. Bigger immediate effect, more people find it uncomfortable, and the same rule: it fades. Good for the neck and jaw where muscles are larger.

Radiofrequency

Heats the dermis to around 40 to 43°C to stimulate collagen remodelling. At-home units are far weaker than clinic ones; results, where they occur, take months of consistent use and are subtle. Not on our store yet because the consumer evidence is thin.

Straight answers

Can I use microcurrent every day for years?

Yes, the trials and the brands say so, with the standard exclusions: pacemakers, implanted electronics, epilepsy, pregnancy, metal implants in the face.

Does any of this build collagen?

Radiofrequency is the one designed to; the at-home evidence is modest. Microcurrent and EMS work on muscle, not collagen.

Will it fix jowls?

Jowls are skin laxity and fat descent, which is structural. These devices change muscle tone and swelling. Expect a fresher look, not a different face.
